Oval Partnership Projects

• Project I: Improvements to Civic public spaces at

(i) St Mark’s churchyard and

(ii) Oval House Theatre

• Project II: Improvements to parade between Oval station and Fentiman Road– £500k.

• Project III: Art trail  with improvements to parade opposite Kenningon Park- £600k

    The Oval Partnership has a track record of delivering local projects including

• The Oval Farmers’ Market at St Marks Church.
• Community lunches for elderly residents
• Operating a small grants programme to local groups
• Arranging for the employment of  over 10 long term unemployed people (Government Step up scheme)
• An art exhibition (St Marks church crypt) and other art based projects
• Painting a community building (Montgomery Hall)

    Our membership includes individuals , businesses and organisations.  Collectively we have considerable expertise and experience.  This is something that we can and do draw on.  For example, the Oval Farmers Market (established 2007) is run by one of our partners-City and Country Farmers Markets -and we know how successful that has been.

    Our ambition is to tackle larger projects that make a tangible difference to the local community.  Back in 2008 we started work on  the  Oval Public Realm Scoping Study. This identified a number of possible local projects (see below).  In the coming year we are focusing on one - the St Marks Churchyard and Farmers’ Market Project  although we do encourage local investment where we can seek to influence other local developments including those in the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area .
