Improving the local neighbourhood

Home About Us Our Projects Oval Farmers' Market Local History Briefing notes Events

Welcome to the website of the  Oval Partnership -a not-for-profit organisation working since 2001 to improve the Kennington Oval Vauxhall area.  You may have visited the Oval Farmers’ Market which we helped to found.  For the last 10 years we have been actively engaging in local projects and seeking  to address issues of community concern. In 2012 we are planning to deliver our most ambitious project to date - £1M of improvements to St Marks Churchyard.  The next stage is to finalise plans and obtain full planning permission for the proposed works.    To help keep costs down, we will be looking for volunteers to carry out some of the work .  If you think you can help out  in some way or just want to make contact please  e-mail us at info@ovalpartnership.org.uk

Neighbourhood Enhancement Programme Consultation

One of the busiest places at the Oval Farmers’ Market (Saturday 26 November 2011) was the NEP consultation stall-

a joint exercise run by Lambeth, Stockwell Partnership and ourselves in the Oval Partnership.  We were asking local people their priorities for the area.  If numbers were anything to judge by the consultation this was clearly a success.                .....more>

New cash point at Oval Station

Some time ago, we wrote to London Underground asking for a cash machine and were told there were no plans for one.  Well ,here it is anyway.  Cash withdrawals are free  but the design it not the usual hole-in-the wall type so it’s easy to miss! It looks like a telephone box on the pavement just past the news kiosk.
